This is a problem that many regular computer users have had, and the solution is rather quick.
In order to solve this problem, you must first turn on a Google Labs feature called “Inserting Images.” In order to turn this feature on, you simply click on the “Settings” icon from your inbox. The “Settings” icon is the cog wheel in the upper right corner of a user’s inbox. From the settings icon, you need to click on the “Labs” menu item, which is likely at the top of the page in blue font. Once on the lab page, scroll down to “Inserting Images.” Please note that all available labs are in alphabetical order, which should make locating a lab easier, if you know the specific lab you want to use. Once you have located the “Inserting Images” lab, click “Enable” in order to turn the feature on for your inbox. Upon enabling the feature, click on “Save Changes” in order to make sure that this lab is enabled on all of your future emails.
After enabling the “Inserting Images” lab, from your inbox you can compose a new message. You should see an “Insert Image” icon in your new message toolbar. Simply click on that icon and you will be able to upload an image from your computer or insert one from a web address.
